About Brixham
- Brixham Harbour is one of the most valuable fishing ports in England, landing millions of pounds worth of fish and shellfish each year. The harbour is home to a large fleet of beam trawlers and day boats, and the Brixham Fish Market is one of the largest in the country. The town's fishing heritage is celebrated at the Brixham Heritage Museum, which tells the story of the port from its origins as a medieval fishing village to the present day.
- Berry Head, on the southern edge of Brixham, is a National Nature Reserve and one of the most important wildlife sites in the South West. The limestone headland is home to one of the largest guillemot colonies in southern England, as well as rare plants including the white rock-rose, which grows nowhere else in Britain. The headland also has the remains of Napoleonic-era fortifications and a lighthouse that is the highest in England relative to sea level.
