About Kelty
- Kelty was one of the most important mining communities in the Fife coalfield, with several collieries operating in and around the village from the 1870s to the 1960s. The Lindsay Colliery, which opened in 1874, was one of the deepest pits in Fife and employed over 1,000 men at its peak.
