About Leven
- Leven Links Golf Course, founded in 1820, is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world and one of the finest links courses in Scotland. The course has hosted qualifying rounds for the Open Championship on numerous occasions and is considered one of the best tests of links golf in Fife. The course is managed by the Leven Golfing Society, one of the oldest golf societies in the world.
- East Fife FC, founded in 1903, is the only club from outside the top two divisions of Scottish football to have won the Scottish Cup, which they achieved in 1938. The club plays at Bayview Stadium in Methil, a short distance from Leven, and has a loyal following throughout the East Neuk.
- The River Leven, which flows through the town to the sea, was an important industrial waterway in the nineteenth century, powering paper mills, linen bleachfields, and other industries along its banks. The river is now a popular fishing destination, and the stretch between Leven and Loch Leven is one of the best brown trout rivers in Fife.
- Leven beach, which stretches for over a mile along the seafront, is one of the longest sandy beaches in Fife. The beach is popular with families and walkers, and the Fife Coastal Path passes along the seafront, connecting Leven to Buckhaven to the west and Lundin Links to the east.
