About Fulford
- The Battle of Fulford was fought on 20 September 1066, just five days before the Battle of Stamford Bridge and nineteen days before the Battle of Hastings. A Norwegian army under King Harald Hardrada defeated the English forces of the northern earls Edwin and Morcar at Fulford, before being defeated by King Harold at Stamford Bridge. The battle site is one of the most historically significant in England.
